Welcome to MiunSkills!

MiunSkills is an introductory course to university studies, designed for those who are new to higher education, or for students who have been studying for a while but feel the need to refresh their skills in order to succeed in their studies.

In MiunSkills, you will be introduced to how the university and university studies work, and you will learn about the expectations placed on you as a student. University life requires you to take a great deal of personal responsibility for your learning – but there is also plenty of support available.

The course content is based on feedback from students. These are the things that previous students have said they wish they had known at the start of their studies.

Instructions

The course is divided into three modules: The University and University Studies, Wellbeing, and Academic Skills. Each module contains lessons covering various university-related topics. The course consists of 12 lessons in total. At the end of each lesson, there is also a quiz where you can, if you wish, check whether you have grasped the most important information from the lesson.

Each lesson has an estimated time for completion listed in the description. However, this will naturally vary depending on the individual – you may need more or less time to complete each one.

You don’t have to complete the lessons in the order they are presented! Feel free to go through them in the order that interests you most, or when they feel most relevant to your needs.

There’s no need to complete all the lessons in one sitting, either. It’s often better to spread the course out over multiple sessions to avoid information overload.

After each lesson, you’ll find a feedback form. We greatly appreciate your thoughts and suggestions on the content.

Don’t rush through the lessons. Take the time to reflect on what you’re learning before moving on, and be sure to read all instructions carefully so you don’t get stuck unnecessarily.

Although the course is mobile-friendly, you’ll have the best experience on a computer, as images and text can appear quite small on a mobile screen.

Navigate the lessons

All lessons feature automatic narration by an AI voice. You can turn off or adjust the sound using the volume button.

The CC button turns subtitles on or off.

Navigate through the lesson using the Previous and Next buttons. If the Next button is greyed out, you’re expected to complete an action on the page before moving forward – so follow the instructions or look for other buttons or arrows to continue. For some interactive elements, you’ll need to click Submit in order to proceed.

You can also use the menu in the top left corner to jump to a specific part of the lesson – useful if you want to revisit something after completing the lesson.

To navigate using your keyboard, press Tab to move forward, Shift + Tab to move backward, and Spacebar or Enter to select an item.
